I was going to drop in and mention that I still remembered the code for 99 lives in Contra ... only to see that someone beat me to it. I feel slightly less pathetic, I suppose.

It also works in Life Force, if you remember that one. Aside: did anyone else try searching for that code on google? There's like, five million results, and most have nothing to do with anything you'd expect--it's *far* from obscure.

Yeah. I google'd "up up down down left right left right b a select start" also to see what'd come up. Us old schoolers remember... CONTRA!!! Yes!!! The spreader!!! I want to buy that game again. It ruled. I also miss Heavy Barrel and Double Dragon.
